Puerto Almanza is located at just 75 kilometers from Ushuaia. You can take a day tour to visit this place, driving through the National Road 3, and then taking the secondary road J. This road goes through a dense forest until it reaches the shores of the Beagle Channel. Turning right on a gravel road you will get to Puerto Almanza, where you can have a lunch at the village´s restaurants. Punta Paraná, a short distance away from the village, is another interesting place to see. It has a nice restaurant, a panoramic viewpoint, and a short trail that leads to a beautiful cascade named Cascada del Duende.
Another option to visit Puerto Almanza is to take a boat tour. Departing from Ushuaia, the catamaran sails through the Beagle Channel and on the way back, you can descend at Punta Paraná, have a meal and then return to Ushuaia on a bus.
