This winter a series of competitions and snow crossings return to Tierra del Fuego, bringing together local, national and international sportsmen and amateurs in important events at the End of the World.

The slopes, valleys and mountains of Ushuaia will once again be the stage for winter sports. We invite you to check the calendar of events scheduled for this 2022 season.

Crossing of the Valleys - June 25

With the participation of the province's winter resorts and different institutions related to winter sports, the Travesía de los Valles covers a series of activities that include sled-dog racing, snowmobile tours, cross-country, conventional and adapted skiing, and snowshoeing.

All of these activities take place in the surroundings of the Tierra Mayor Valley Natural and Landscape Reserve, where the winter resorts are located.

The date is subject to weather conditions.

Kupanaka Ushuaia Trail– June 25

The second edition of this trail running competition will take place in the Tierra Mayor Valley, with circuits of 10 and 5 kilometers. Organized by the HM-MB group, this night race on snow was a great success last year, so it will be held again this season with the participation of amateurs and local athletes.

End of the World Ice Hockey Cup- July 22 to August 4

The XV edition of the ice hockey tournament will be held this year in Ushuaia, with the participation of local and national teams. This tournament is considered the largest in Argentina and is organized by the Argentine Ice Hockey Federation and the Club Andino Ushuaia.

Marchablanca-Ushuaia Loppet- August 14

The cross-country skiing competition that has more than 30 years of history in Tierra del Fuego, has positioned itself as a traditional event that gathers locals, nationals and foreigners. This season it will be held again in the Tierra Mayor Valley and will be attended by athletes, press media and professional skiers from all over the world. The categories are divided between 25 km and 7 km circuits. In addition to this activity, the Ushuaia Loppet, a competition that brings the Wordloppet Skiers together and that has been part of the WORDLOPPET World Circuit since 2014. It has a distance of 50 kilometers.

Mountain Do Fim do Mundo- August 20 and 21

The Mountain Do is a mountain race developed in Brazil, which was inspired by the fusion of popular street races with the traditional European races of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps region. This event is part of the international Sports Do circuit and takes place in the Atacama Desert, Chile, in the Sacred Valley, Peru, in the Sahara Desert, Morocco and in Cerro Castor, Ushuaia.

The route takes place on snow in the middle of forests, trails and mountains, with distances of 42 km, 21 km and 10 km. The organizer of the event is Southpeople Patagonia.

Martial Crossing - September 10

Organized by the Mountain Subcommittee of the Club Andino Ushuaia, this competition takes place in the area of the Martial Glacier Natural Reserve and consists of three disciplines: ski backcountry, splitboard and snowshoeing. The circuits used are the old Wallner Slope, the Jerman Slope, and the Martial Slope.

The route has a total length of 5.85 km, of which 4.33 km are uphill, alternating between different levels, covering 450 meters of positive slope. The remaining 1.52 km are downhill, covering 220 meters of moderate to easy difficulty.
