Fiesta Nacional de La Noche más Larga (The Longest Night National Festival)

June 21 is the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere, so the longest night of the year is celebrated. In the capital of Tierra del Fuego, this event, organized by the Municipal Culture Secretariat, has become a national festivity with the participation of renowned artists. The celebration lasts 10 days, during which the local public and visitors gather to enjoy music, dance and gastronomic shows.

Winter Festival

Since the opening of the "Cerro Castor" Ski Resort in 1999, the Instituto Fueguino de Turismo organizes a celebration for the beginning of the winter season, in which all the activities related to the resort are celebrated, and above all, the Fuegian tradition of enjoying the snow. Likewise, Cerro Castor commemorates its anniversary with the organization of a torch descent, carried by the instructors of its school and the sports schools of Club Andino Ushuaia. The descent from the mountain takes place at dusk, along the main slope, thus marking the beginning of recreational activities, including artistic shows and tasting of local cuisine.

The Winter Festival will be held at the base of Cerro Castor on July 9 and 10 from 10 am.

Whisky Live Ushuaia

This international tasting event is one of the most important in the world and this year, for the first time, it will be held in the city of Ushuaia. With the presence of representatives of the main whisky houses and most renowned distilleries, this meeting, organized by the Ushuaia Whisky Club, will be held on July 22 and 23 at the Las Hayas Resort Hotel. In the main hall of the event, there will be a general tasting of the labels, while in the special rooms there will be private tastings and training sessions. Shh International Mountain Film Festival Ushuaia

This event began in Tierra del Fuego and has been held annually during the winter season since 2007. Organized with the support of public and private institutions, this festival aims to strengthen mountain culture and respect for nature. Through a program of film screenings in exhibition and competition, lectures and talks, workshops, workshops and sports activities, the festival aims to consolidate the mountain film genre in the region. Ice Sculpture Event

This event takes place in the town of Tolhuin in July and is organized by the local Town Hall. The ice blocks are extracted from the Khami lagoon and are worked with chainsaws, chisels and other tools. Artists from Tolhuin, Ushuaia and Río Grande participate in this encounter, and the themes include Selk'nam culture, nature and local traditions.

Snow Sculpture Festival

It takes place in August, in the Haruwen winter resort, located 36 kilometers from Ushuaia. Teams of local, national and international sculptors work on 2.40 meter blocks of snow to create pieces that represent different themes. This event is organized by this winter resort with the support of the Local Culture Secretariat and is subject to weather conditions.

Museums and thematic galleries to visit
