During spring and summer there is many ways to explore the wild beauty of Tierra del Fuego.
Off-road trips will take you through deep forests, rural roads, the Andes mountains, and to the shores of the two largest lakes of the island, the Escondido and Fagnano. Driving East on a gravel road, you will reach Cape San Pablo, a place of high cliffs, abundant sealife and an interesting history of shipwrecks. Driving North you will find a wide steppe, with many rivers and old cattle ranchs called estancias. This area is a favorite destination for fly- fishing.
Another option is horseriding. In Ushuaia, Tolhuin and Río Grande there are itineraries with different levels of demand for both beginners and experienced riders.
For those who seek a different experience, the Mitre Peninsula expeditions are a great choice, since this highly demanding trek goes through one of the most inhospit and challenging areas of the island. These trips last between 10 and 14 days, and are led by expert guides who work with reduced groups of people.
If you love the sea you can go under the waters of the Beagle Channel, on a scuba dive that will show you a hidden world of giant algae, kingcrabs and shipwrecks.
If you prefer rivers, you can go paddling on a canoe or kayak in the National Park and enjoy pack- rafting in the Olivia river.
Summertime in Tierra del Fuego has up to 18 hours of daylight to enjoy nature.
We invite you to explore all the colors of the high season at the end of the world.
