Required documentation to enter Tierra del Fuego by land

Documentation to present at border crossings in Argentina

Foreigners: Valid passport or Mercosur identity card.

Minors travelling with both parents: ID and Birth Certificate. Birth certificates should not be laminated, since documents in such condition are not accepted by the immigration authorities of Argentina and Chile.

Minors travelling with one parent: travel permit signed by both parents in front of a Notary Public or Solicitor.

Minors travelling with widow or widower parent: Death Certificate of the deceased parent.

Travelling with third parties: Authorization signed by both parents in front of a Notary Public or Solicitor.

Travelling with pets: Vaccination and health certificates. Anti-rabies vaccination is mandatory.

Vehicles:

Valid driver's licence and ID

Insurance policy

First Aids Kit

Taking food across the border

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

When entering Argentina and Chile, there are strict regulations concerning the import of food.  You are not allowed to import:

  • Meat and meat products
  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Seeds, flowers, soil, bulbs
