This low-difficulty trail is located within a Natural Reserve called "Corazón de la Isla", in the central area of the island. From the town of Tolhuin, you must drive 12 kilometers north along National Route 3, and then turn left and take Provincial Route 18 . After about 50 kilometers of gravel road, you will get to the Park Ranger Station, where all visitors must register, and then continue for about 2 more kilometers until you reach the access to the trail.
During the tour, visitors can consult the information panels that describe the environment, the types of trees and the forestry activity that has been carried out in the area for 45 years, under the criteria of traditional felling or flowering.
In this ecotone environment, lenga and ñire trees predominate, as well as grasslands and peat bogs. At the end of the path, there is an open field, where you can see a traditional "ruca", a shelter built and used by the hacheros of the area to rest, and which is in its original state.
This trail has informative signs, a parking area for cars and rest benches along the route.
