This short easy trail starts after you pass the Ovando river and will take you through a forest of lengas and ñires until you reach the lagoon viewpoint. There are peatbogs in this area where you can see the drosera uniflora, and bushes such as calafate, parrilla and mata negra. Among the species of birds you can watch here are the woodpecker, the buff-winged cynclode, the thorn-tailed rayadito, the fire-eyed diucon,the buzzard, condors and the austral trush.
The Tierra del Fuego National Park was created in 1960, and it has a surface of 68.909 hectares of Patagonian forests.Located at 12 kilometers West of Ushuaia it is the only national park in Argentina with a coastline, the southwestern shores of the Beagle Channel. Lapataia Bay, where the National Route 3 ends,it's the only fjord located on the Argentine sector of the island.
